There’ve been rumors since they announced “Salaar” that Yash, known for his role as Rocky Bhai in KGF, might show up in a small role. The film’s producer, Vijay Kiragandur, shed some light on this. “Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire” by Prashanth Neel stars Prabhas, Shruti Haasan, and Prithviraj Sukumaran, and it’s set to hit screens on December 22. People got curious if Yash’s character would appear in this movie.
While the team behind “Salaar” kept things mysterious, the producer clarified in a recent interview that Yash won’t be in it.
Vijay was asked by India Today about a possible crossover between Prabhas, Prithviraj, and Yash’s characters. He stated, “Prashanth has already said there’s no link between KGF and Salaar. Yash won’t have a cameo in the movie. That’s not true.” Even though Prashanth had previously mentioned there wouldn’t be any crossover, singer Theertha Subhash added to the confusion. She mentioned being excited about ‘Yash uncle’s cameo’ in “Salaar” during an interview in Kerala. But later, she and her parents clarified on Instagram that it was an assumption based on the team similarity between “KGF” and “Salaar.”
Vijay had to clarify once again that “Salaar” isn’t a remake of Prashanth’s movie, “Ugramm,” after rumors suggested otherwise. He made it clear that Prashanth knows how to make each project distinct and there’s no truth to the rumors of “Salaar” being a remake.
About the movie itself, “Salaar” is set in the fictional city of Khansaar. It follows Varadharaj Mannar, played by Prithviraj, who aims to take control of the city from his father. When enemies plan to overthrow him, he seeks help from his childhood friend Deva, played by Prabhas, to regain control. The movie’s trailer got a positive response from the audience.
